Tamil Nadu government launches education TV channel 'Kalvi Tholaikkatchi'

-> The Tamil Nadu government launched its exclusive education TV channel, aimed at benefiting students of classes I to XII.

-> An initiative of the School Education Department, 'Kalvi Tholaikkatchi' (Education TV) was launched by Chief Minister K Palaniswami.

-> The channel's content will include shows aimed at school children, besides those on jobs and related issues.

Shri Prahlad Singh Patel launches integrated NOAPS single window clearing system of National Monuments Authority for 517 local bodies in six States

-> The Minister of State for Culture & Tourism (Independent Charge),Shri Prahlad Singh Patel launched an integrated NOC online Application Processing System for National Monuments Authority (NMA) for 517 local bodies of six states in New Delhi.

-> This will help in online processing of applications requesting NOC for construction related work in prohibited and regulated area of ASI protected monuments.

Pakistan, China engage in joint aerial exercise 200 km north of Leh

-> The air forces of Pakistan and China are jointly exercising ‘Shaheen-VIII’ in Chinese city of Holton, close to the Indian border near Ladakh.

-> The annual joint training is the eighth of its kind between the two countries since it was first launched in March 2001.

India, Australia & France to jointly create inclusive Indo-Pacific

-> India, France and Australia, in a major strategic move, plans trilaterals that would help to rebalance China in the Indo-Pacific in the backdrop of growing Indo-French & Indo-Australia & Australia-France partnership across the vast region.

-> The first meet of this initiative that would contribute to making the Indo-Pacific region inclusive is expected to be organised later this year in France.

-> Earlier, the three have held Track 1.5 dialogue to identify security challenges and sustainability issues in the Indo-Pacific region.

Canara Bank launches OTP facility for ATM cash withdrawals over Rs 10,000

-> Public sector lender Canara Bank has launched the first OTP facility for ATM withdrawals.

-> In order to offer a more secured and safe system, Canara bank will activate OTP facility for cash withdrawals of Rs 10,000 or more in a day.

Bimal Jalan panel recommends review of economic capital framework every five years

-> The Bimal Jalan panel of the Reserve Bank has recommended that the revised economic capital framework will be reviewed every five years.

-> The RBI, Under the revised framework, decided to transfer 52,637 crore rupees excess provisions to the government.

-> The panel's report, which was released by the central bank, also recommended that the RBI accounting year (July-June) may be brought in sync with the fiscal year (April to March) from the next financial year.

-> This could reduce the need for interim dividend being paid by the RBI.

IIT-Guwahati researchers develop 'meat of the future'

-> Researchers at IIT-Guwahati have developed lab grown meat, which is nutritious and will be a step towards cruelty-free food.

-> Lab-grown meat will open new vistas towards cruelty-free food thereby saving the environment as well as the animals.

-> In Biomaterial and Tissue Engineering laboratory, researchers have developed a novel technique formulated and patented for production of meat which is completely natural.

Bhubaneswar gets provisional clearance for FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup India 2020

-> Odisha's capital city Bhubaneswar became the first venue to get a provisional clearance for FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup India 2020.

-> The FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup India 2020 will help upgrade the infrastructure to FIFA standards. Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, will become the first to host a FIFA competition in Odisha.

Sports Minister gives Rs 1.82 cr to medallists of Para-Badminton World Championship

-> Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju has handed over 1.82 crore rupees to the medallists of the Para-Badminton World Championship, amending the policy for para-athletes to make them eligible for more cash awards.

Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi to be renamed as Arun Jaitley Stadium

-> Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi will be renamed as Arun Jaitley Stadium in memory of its former president who passed away.

-> The renaming will take place at a function where a stand at the Stadium will also be named after India captain Virat Kohli.

Pune youth becomes first Indian to complete ‘La Ultra The High’ marathon

-> Ashish Kasodekar, a youth hailing from Pune, has become the first Indian to complete the 555 kms long ‘La Ultra The High’ marathon in Ladakh.

-> This marathon is also known as the cruellest marathon of the world. This event is organised every year in Ladakh and for the latest edition, the distance of the marathon was extended to 555 kms from 333 kms.

-> Five people participated in the marathon and among five, two were Indians. The total journey of the marathon had to be completed in five and a half days.

-> The participants had to pass five mountains with almost 1700 feet height.
